Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per annumdependant on experience/qualifications

About the Role

Weare looking to appoint a dynamic, passionate and committed SENTeacher to join our educational team and to help deliver anoutstanding curriculum, motivate the pupils and achieve positiveoutcomes for our students.

The successfulcandidate will have experience of working with pupils with a rangeof complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate aworking understanding of how these needs impact upon learning andbehaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge andexperience of working with autistic spectrum disorder or pupilswith social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you mayhave experience of working across both specialisms

Job Summary and Duties

Working as an SEN Teacher for Brookthorpe Hall School, youwill deliver fun educational based learning which is tailored toeach of our pupils to ensure they will achieve positive results.The role will be challenging but rewarding, working in a dynamicenvironment where you can make a real difference. You will beexpected to lead the teaching of and co-ordinate flexible,person-centred programmes of study for individuals and groups ofpupils. You will be able to demonstrate a practical, hands-onapproach to teaching and be prepared to go above and beyond for thestudents we support.

Following a thoroughinduction programme, your duties will include:

  • Teaching a varied range ofsubjects

  • Preparing,planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining anawareness of curriculum developments

  • Writing and implement individual educationplans, making assessments of educational attainment, settingchallenging yet achievable targets

  • Build relationships with all students, whichwill encourage their interest and participation in theireducation

  • Creating anenvironment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils topromote teaching and learning outside the formal classroomsettings

Key SkillsRequired:

  • Hold QualifiedTeacher Status

  • Have abackground of teaching a range of subjects, delivering teaching ata good or outstanding level

  • Knowledge of current education issues inrelation to terms of practise, process andcurriculum

  • Be experiencedin or have an interest working within an SEN setting, supportingpupils with challenging behaviour (SEMH/ASD)
