Job Description

Contract role - Wintel Linux Technical Architect (Banking) - Manchester/Hybrid - 12 months initial

We are currently looking for experienced Infrastructure Architect (Banking) to support a part of our end client's new data centre build.

  • Job Title: Infrastructure Architect (Banking)
  • Type of Role: Contract - 12 months initially - Inside IR35 PAYE/FTC
  • Location: Leeds/Manchester/Halifax/Bristol/Birmingham/Glasgow Edinburgh/Hybrid (2 days a week onsite)
  • Sector: Banking
  • Deep understanding of x86 processors and systems, including Intel and AMD technologies.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL, CentOS).
  • Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Awareness of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and local storage.
  • Understanding of network designs, protocols, and security measures, including VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Experience with performance optimisation and scalability solutions for x86 systems.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing high availability solutions for x86 systems.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery strategies and resilience patterns for x86 architectures.
  • Awareness of security measures, including patch management and vulnerability assessment.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • Cloud: AWS/GCP
  • Experience with Agile development principles and methods, Jira, Confluence
  • Banking/Financial Services Background
  • Location for this role is Hybrid however a preference would be for candidates closer to Leeds however will consider talent from elsewhere with a requirement to travel company key sites when required - Leeds, Halifax, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham, 2 days a week onsite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey technically complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • A strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
