Job Description

E.ON's business in the UK has been through a successful turnaround and navigated an energy crisis, and is now pivoting to growth. Having a clear, logical strategy against which we deliver is key.

Here's what you will be doing

You will lead on existing acquisition/investment projects, managing them through the strategy, target list, approach, Due Diligence and execute plans to operational hand-over.

You will be expected to support the development of the overarching strategy for the pillar and understand how we use the Make, Partner or Buy model for growth.

Other key responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy roadmap for EIS pillar alongside the wider strategy team

  • Act as a conduit to translate problem statements & capability gaps / opportunities from the pillar to feed back into the strategy development

  • Lead the strategy associated with each investment project & gain support internally across a range of senior stakeholders

  • Lead target selection work

  • Maintain an accurate issues & risk log interface with key external stakeholders

  • Own and deliver the project plans for M&A work

  • Secure and manage budget for M&A projects

  • Support the Head of M&A with the deal negotiations & deal structure decisions

  • Lead the integration planning through a robust 100-day plan

  • Responsible for the audit trails of all M&A activity

  • Create sign off packs & papers for UK Board and Group

  • Provide support and counsel, enabling decisions with multi £m resource implications (CAPEX / OPEX).

What we are seeking from you

  • Previous experience in project & budget management.

  • Previous experience working within M&A.

  • Commercial acumen- ability to understand and evaluate basic financial modelling e.g. NPV, (net present value) payback, IRR (internal rate of return) and financial business cases.

  • Successful track record of leading cross functional teams.

  • Ability and experience of working closely and collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business and external partners.

  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to think strategically, work on own initiative, under pressure and meet deadlines - effectively managing the demands of a highly pressurised environment.

  • Strong level of understanding of the current Solutions markets, current competitor propositions and have a broad overview of new emerging technologies across the EIS Pillar.
