Storage Engineer

Role Title: VMWare SME
Duration: contract to run until 28/11/2025
Location: Remote
Rate: up to £495.41 p/d Umbrella inside IR35

Key Skills/requirements

• Should have 8-10 years of experience in Storage Administration.
• Good experience in design, planning, and implementation of Storage solutions at Enterprise scale.
• Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications.
• Good understanding of Data centre architecture and Automation technologies.
• Working Experience in handling and troubleshooting Storage Products such as Dell VMAX-3, PMAX, Pure, and HP.
• Experience in implementing Time Finder Snap/Clone and remote replication using SRDF/S, A & AR at the Symmetrix PowerMax, & VMAX.
• Experience in working on Storage Migration projects and Data Migration tools such as Cirrus or any equivalent tool.
• Working Experience on Cisco and Brocade Switches administration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Working experience on performing Migrations between multiple switch products.
• Having knowledge of any Scripting tools like Python or any other equivalent tools to support the automation journey (Preferred but not mandatory).
• Detailed knowledge on DCNM, VSAN's, ISL, NPIV.
• Detailed knowledge of Logical Fabrics/LSAN's/Context Switching.
• Detailed knowledge of SAN NAV, FOS, ACS-Gateway.
• Experience of Broadcom/Brocade Director Class Switches.
• Experience with SYMCLI, Unisphere, Cisco DCNM, and Brocade BNA.
• Demonstrate analytical and problem management skills.
• Storage - Brocade & Cisco Switches, Dell storage arrays

Must have experience:

• L3 level support EMC VMAX, EMC PowerMax, Pure Storage, Brocade and Cisco SAN Switches. Hands-on experience with SRDF replications, Snapshots and migration tools. Cisco San Fabrics and Dell Storage experience is a must-have.
• Must have experience working in a finance background with adherence to strong change management practices
