We are an independent charitable organisation working to build a healthier UK. Health is our most precious asset. Good health enables us to live happy, fulfilling lives, fuels our prosperity, and helps build a stronger society. Yet good health remains out of reach for too many people in the UK and services are struggling to provide access to timely, high-quality care. It doesn't have to be like this. Our mission is to help build a healthier UK by:

  1. Improving people's health and reducing inequalities
  2. Supporting radical innovation and improvement in health and care services
  3. Providing evidence and analysis to improve health and care policy.

We aim for excellence across our work and will achieve this by producing research and analysis, shaping policy and practice, building skills, knowledge, and capacity, and acting as a catalyst for change. Everyone has a stake and a part to play in improving our health. By working together, we can build a healthier UK.

About the role:

We are looking for a Social Media Officer to work as part of a small, start-up style team on our public campaigning initiative. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead on our social media presence, ensuring that our always-on and time-limited public campaigns catch the attention of the public and policy makers across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and BlueSky.

In this role, you'll use your skills to schedule, design, deliver and monitor creative and engaging social media content that helps Health Equals to build its online presence and following, supporting its objective to raise awareness of how our health is shaped by 'the building blocks of health'. About you:

You will be part of developing a clear voice and powerful communications that reach audiences across the public, private and third sector. Ultimately, you'll contribute to building a new narrative about how health is shaped, as well as building pressure for policies across government that put good health and wellbeing at their heart.

We think this role is for you if you have excellent content creation skills and are adept at finding opportunities to reach broader audiences in innovative ways. You will enjoy keeping your finger on the pulse when it comes to trends and debate online, and know how to work with opinion formers, communities and influencers to produce quality content that resonates with target audiences.

You'll be a confident communicator with excellent writing and editing skills, experienced in tracking performance and using insights to improve results, and be seasoned at working with colleagues to understand complex subjects and turn them into public friendly, accessible content, have experience using design software and working to brand guidelines is also key to success in this role.
