Senior Ships Agent

Ellesmere Port, Cheshire

£30,000 - £38,000 (flexible depending on experience)

Monday - Friday, Days

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Ship's Agent to join our team in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination and management of vessel operations, acting as the key liaison between ship owners, port authorities, and other stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for the maritime industry and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

The Candidate;

  • Previous experience in ship agency or a related maritime role is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of port operations, shipping regulations, and documentation procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for port call management and documentation.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to handle unexpected challenges calmly and efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by vessel schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Coordinate all port call activities, including berthing, cargo operations, and departure arrangements.
  • Liaise with ship owners, operators, port authorities, and service providers to ensure efficient vessel turnaround.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation for vessel clearance, including customs and immigration formalities.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely communication of any changes or delays to relevant parties.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the vessel's crew, including arranging pilotage, towage, and other necessary services.
  • Handle any unexpected issues or emergencies that may arise during port calls, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of all port call activities and expenses for invoicing purposes
