Senior Offshore Installation Engineer
Location: Grimsby, UK
£625 per day Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Offshore Installation & Logistics Engineer to join a forward-thinking organization driving innovation in renewable energy and sustainable offshore solutions. This role involves overseeing and optimizing offshore installation activities, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, recommend, and optimize offshore installation, logistics concepts, and procedures throughout the project life cycle.
  • Prepare technical documentation for invitation-to-tender (ITT) processes.
  • Collaborate with Package and Contract Managers to tender, negotiate, and recommend installation contracts, including Marine Warranty Surveyors (MWS).
  • Manage offshore installation contractors and ensure effective cross-discipline cooperation within project teams.
  • Review and approve contractor method statements and risk assessments.
  • Set up and implement HAZID/HAZOP processes for installation design and offshore operations.
  • Provide progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting significant technical risks and developing contingency plans.
  • Supervise and approve trialing, tool development, loading, and vessel setup activities.
  • Oversee offshore installation campaigns, ensuring smooth operations and managing Client Representatives.
  • Monitor and control the execution of design quality and Quality Assurance Systems (QAS), aligning with supplier input.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and review product documentation during the AP execution phase.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in offshore installation and logistics operations, preferably with knowledge of Ørsted procedures.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Array cable installation
    • Cable load-out procedures
    • Cable laying and pulling operations
    • Cable protection systems
  • Familiarity with HAZID/HAZOP processes and risk management strategies.
  • Strong experience in contractor and stakeholder management, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
