Job Description

Hackney's Children and Families Service is looking for a Part-Time Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to expand our team within the Safeguarding and Reviewing Service. This role provides an opportunity to further shape the quality assurance and practice across our Children's Services. This role is a permanent position.

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate worker, who will bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with & managing allegations against adults who work with children. This role involves working with police, children's social care, employers and other involved professionals. In addition, you will have strong knowledge of children's services from the front door, through to long term work, and looked after children and care leavers and experience of working with partner agencies.

Our Service seeks to actively contribute to organisational learning through recognising, promoting and supporting best practice and service development, retaining a clear focus upon positive good outcomes and stability for children and families across the borough. Candidates must have;

  • a relevant professional social work degree or equivalent
  • current registration with Social Work England
  • substantive post qualifying experience
  • experience of managing and developing staff and best practice
  • evidence of continuing professional development

An enhanced DBS check is required.
