Infrastructure Engineer

Arcas Technology is partnered with a Tech Consultancy based in Bournemouth, that is currently seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a strong background in infrastructure management, network administration, and technical support. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in a similar technical role, with proven expertise in managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.

Role Overview:

• Responsible for maintaining and enhancing both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, covering servers, storage systems, and networks.
• Oversee and support the network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and redundancy across various locations.
• Provide in-person technical assistance to ensure smooth operations.
• Deliver 3rd line support, handling escalated issues from the service desk.
• Lead or assist in planning and executing IT projects.
• Keep detailed records of systems, configurations, and processes. Ensure all documentation adheres to industry standards and regulations.
• Previous experience in a service-oriented environment is preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications are required.

Required Technical Skills:

• Networking Expertise: Extensive knowledge of network protocols with experience configuring and managing LAN, Wi-Fi, and WAN systems.
• Familiarity with HPE Aruba networking is essential.
• Firewall Management: Hands-on experience with firewall administration, with FortiGate being preferred.
• Microsoft Infrastructure: Strong expertise in managing Microsoft platforms, including Windows Server, Office 365, and Entra administration.
• Virtualization & Hardware: Solid understanding of Hyper-V, as well as HPE server hardware and storage systems.
• Apple Devices: Competency in managing MacOS and iOS devices.
• ITIL & Service Management: Familiarity with the ITIL framework and best practices for service management.
