Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified musician to support the delivery of Putney High School's highly successful co-curricular Music programme.

Leading by example, you will promote excellence in teaching and learning to ensure all pupils develop their potential through the planning and delivery of high quality, innovative and engaging lessons. You will also support the Director of Music in the delivery of our outstanding co-curricular provision and the management of the Music department.

We are looking for a skilled individual, who possesses experience of teaching across the school up to and including A Level, including experience of leading co-curricular activities. As a talented musician and director, you will have experience of leading large-scale performances, as well as experience as an accompanist (strong keyboard skills are essential). You will also demonstrate excellent knowledge of Sibelius and GarageBand.

Music at Putney High School

The Music Department is the beating drum of Putney High School. A wonderfully busy and active department, with over 30 ensembles and choirs, and around 40 performances each year, there is a team of excellent peripatetic music teachers. Having recently moved into the new, bespoke Athena building, Music is at the very centre of the school site, as well as the core ethos, and is accessible to all pupils. Our extensive co-curricular offer sees many joint productions with the Drama Department, as well as a foreign tour, which takes place every two years.
