The work of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is crucial to every part of this government's plan for change. From growing the economy and improving living standards to reforming public services and transforming citizens' experience of the modern state, we want to harness the power of science and technology to make British people's lives safer, more secure, and more prosperous. This is an incredibly opportune time to be joining us in what is one of the most exciting and demanding communications roles in Government today.

As the strategic lead for communications, you will inspire a diverse range of communications and media professionals to build our external reputation and public profile, as well as leading on internal communications to support DSIT. The ability to gain insight into the communities we work with at pace will be critical to your success in the role, as will building a strong sense of collaboration following recent machinery of government changes.

This high-profile role is one of the most influential positions in the Department and will engage with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. You will be an inspirational leader who will shape our future direction in this area and take people with you. We want to revolutionise the way we talk about science and technology and why it matters for citizens.
