Job Description

Salary: £62,000 - £68,000 per annum
Working hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Location: Cirencester (Hybrid working available)
Contract: Permanent Reports to: Board of Trustees

Our client are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Director to drive transformation at a pivotal time for them and the institution. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the student experience and ensure they deliver student-led services that reflect the diverse needs of its community.

About the Organisation

They are an independent charity that represents 1,100 students from 43 different countries in Cirencester. As the central hub of student life, our client enhances the student experience by offering a range of services, from social and cultural activities to professional development opportunities. The Union helps students thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.

While they operate independently from the University, it works in close partnership with to ensure that student voices are heard and their needs are met. Currently undergoing a period of transformation, the Students Union is strengthening its governance and structures, providing a unique opportunity for the new Director to shape its future.

About the Role

The Director will play a pivotal role in leading the transformation of the organisation, overseeing strategic direction, governance, and operational delivery. They will collaborate with the Trustee Board, Student Officers, to ensure their strategy meets student needs while enhancing services and activities.

The Director will cultivate a culture of inclusivity, ensuring the team is supported, motivated, and aligned with theirmission. With a hands-on approach, they will be responsible for the effective financial and operational management, while also championing the student voice and ensuring the Union s long-term sustainability.
