Job Description: Temporary Desktop Support - 1 Week (London)
Position: Desktop Support (Temporary)
Location: London
Duration: 1 Week
Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £180 to £200 per day
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Desktop Support Technician for a short-term, 2-week assignment based in London. The role involves providing technical support to users, ensuring smooth operation of desktops, laptops, and other IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install and configure operating systems, software applications, and updates.
- Assist in setting up new workstations and user accounts.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical issues and resolutions.
- Assist with IT inventory management and maintain records of IT equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal users and communicate effectively.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a desktop support or IT helpdesk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi).
- Experience in hardware troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers).
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience with remote desktop support tools.
