Design Manager - Permanent - Birmingham - Main Contractor - Water Projects

Your new company
You will be joining an established main contractor working on mechanical and electrical water schemes for high-profile clients. This organisation has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to company expansion, they are looking to onboard a Design Manager to join their highly successful team. This is a permanent position based in the Birmingham area with the option for hybrid working.

Your new role
As Design Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Managing the in-house design team on a day-to-day basis, allocating work accordingly

Undertaking formal design reviews through the project cycle

Monitoring design progression for each project

Liaising with framework managers and senior management to ensure technical resources are effectively managed

Delegating work packages with external engineering consultants that support the in-house team.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have:

Previous experience as a Design Manager within the water (ideal) industry

Good commercial awareness and be able to build relationships with clients

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams

Full UK driving licence.
