Design Manager - Permanent - Birmingham - Main Contractor - Water Projects

Your new company
You will be joining an established main contractor working on mechanical and electrical water schemes for high-profile clients. This organisation has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to company expansion, they are looking to onboard a Design Manager to join their highly successful team. This is a permanent position based in the Birmingham area with the option for hybrid working.

Your new role
As Design Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Managing the in-house design team on a day-to-day basis, allocating work accordingly
  • Undertaking formal design reviews through the project cycle
  • Monitoring design progression for each project
  • Liaising with framework managers and senior management to ensure technical resources are effectively managed
  • Delegating work packages with external engineering consultants that support the in-house team.

  • What you'll need to succeed
    In order to be successful, you will have:
  • Previous experience as a Design Manager within the water (ideal) industry
  • Good commercial awareness and be able to build relationships with clients
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Full UK driving licence.
