Contract: Fixed term post until 30th September 2026.Partnering with Cadent Gas offers a great opportunity for Alzheimer's Society as it will allow us to provide clear and up to date advice about energy efficiency, the dangers of carbon monoxide and the benefits of the Priority Services Register to people affected by dementia.Ultimately through the partnership, we aim to reach more people affected by dementia, helping them be better informed and in control of decisions on energy efficiency and safety. The post being advertised is part of this partnership and is fixed term for 2 yearsThis role will be supporting the south Asian community within Newham, Enfield and Barnet, so we are looking for someone who is be fluent in English and south Asian languages in particular Urdu. You will;
- Assist people with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs, providing information and guidance to help maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
- Be part of a highly motivated and supportive team, sharing responsibility of some Group Activities.
- Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, marketing Alzheimer's Society services and providing dementia support.
- Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless and consistent support and empowering individuals affected by dementia to make informed choices.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone and online.
- Be fluent in south Asian languages mainly Urdu, and potentially Hindi.
- Be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach with a commitment to equal opportunity.
- Have good communication skills.
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems.
- Understand client confidentiality and how this is applied when representing client needs.
- Have the ability and means able to travel independently around North London
- You will be asked to apply for an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Scheme) check.
