Role: Automation Engineer (Shell Scripting)

Location: UK, remote

Duration: 6months Contract Inside IR35

Description:

We are looking for a talented Automation Engineer with strong Shell Scripting and Puppet experience to join our team for a prominent banking client. In this role, you will be responsible for automating processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the reliability and security of our banking systems.

Essential Skills

• Develop and implement automation solutions using Shell Scripting and Puppet for configuration management.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
• Design and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to support deployment and configuration processes.
• Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Document automation processes, best practices, and operational procedures for team knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards in automation practices.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in automation and Scripting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on Shell Scripting and Puppet.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and practices.
• Experience with version control systems (eg, Git).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
