Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Bromley, Kent

Remuneration: Up to £55,000 per year

Contract Details: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:

• Assess Legacy systems and collaborate with users and application experts to upgrade host operating systems, replace outdated applications, or isolate them to mitigate security risks.
• Implement, test, and document solutions for Legacy applications.
• Work closely with the security and infrastructure teams to deploy updates and security patches.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.

Our client, a leading information technology organisation, is seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join their Systems Support team in Bromley, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our client's IT systems.

In this role, you will work as part of a small infrastructure team, focusing on maintaining Legacy systems while upgrading or replacing applications as needed to eliminate vulnerabilities and enhance overall system security. You will collaborate with users and application experts to assess Legacy systems and implement effective solutions to mitigate security risks.

To succeed in this role, you should have expertise in Windows Server (), Azure, and domain structures. You should also possess strong knowledge of Scripting, group policy, and security vulnerabilities. The ability to work effectively across teams and handle out-of-hours requirements when necessary is crucial.

Desirable skills include familiarity with Legacy applications like FoxPro and Access 97, as well as experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions. A solid understanding of IT security best practises is also highly valued.
