Job Description

The Royal Academy of Music is a creative and vibrant workplace with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 60 countries. Many of the world's leading musicians and performers have studied with us and we are firmly focused on developing tomorrow's musical leaders across several disciplines, including Classical Performance, Composition, Opera, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a vibrant programme of around 500 events.

We are seeking an experienced Web and Digital Content Assistant to join the Communications and Marketing Team on a part-time, fixed-term (six-month) contract. You will be responsible for supporting the Communications team with the day-to-day maintenance of the Academy website and digital asset library. This will include carrying out website updates, and logging bugs and issues with the website's external website developers.

You will regularly review and monitor all content on the site ensuring it is accurate and conforming to guidelines. You will also be the main point of contact for the Academy's external website developers, third party system providers and the University of London, and will be responsible for updating team members on developments in the digital landscape which could benefit the institution.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of working with a CMS along with proven experience working across an organisation with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with different stakeholders and audiences. Experience of communications within the arts or education sectors and an interest in music would be advantageous.

There may be opportunity to extend the contract beyond the initial six months.

Completed applications must be received by midnight 17 November 2024.

Interviews are expected to take place at the Academy week commencing 2 December 2024.

Enquiries or applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

The Academy is committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.

We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates with disabilities because we would like to increase the representation of these groups in these roles. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to greater results for students.

The Academy values diversity and welcomes your application.
