Job Description
Julia Day at the CK Group is working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company who specialise in oncology to secure a permanent VP, Head of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance. The company have an excellent pipeline of truly exciting and groundbreaking medicines across early phase development. As one product is moving towards commercialisation this is an integral leadership role. You will report to the Chief Development Office and be responsible for the strategic direction of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, leadership of the team and management of the operational delivery of the department.

The Company

The company has it's headquarters in Cambridge, UK with several of the leadership team in the US. This is a remote based role in the UK.

Salary and benefits:
  • Flexible working with remote, office-based or hybrid working on offer.
  • Excellent basic salary (circa £215,000) plus shares, 25% bonus, car allowance, 28 days leave, private healthcare and dental and multiple extra benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the drug safety and PVG strategy.
  • Manage and lead the drug safety and PVG function.
  • Collaborate with other senior members to integrate the department, taking a big-picture approach.
  • Ensure appropriate systems, processes and resources are in place to meet global regulatory requirements.
  • Develop risk management strategies are developed.
  • Represent the company with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Develop department policies, SOPs, systems and reporting.
  • Manage vendor selection and management.

Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD/MBBS).
  • Significant global drug safety/pharmacovigilance experience.
  • Experience developing systems and processes.
  • Significant people leadership experience.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities.
