Job Description

Harris Hill is working with a national cancer charity, who are urgently seeking a Virtual and Challenge Events Manager to cover the role for the next few months, on a full or part time basis, either remote or hybrid based, although they do try to meet weekly if possible.

Duties:
Oversee the project management of our Facebook Challenges, leading end-to-end planning and delivery to help hit ambitious fundraising targets.
Oversee the project management of our third-party events, including the 2025 London and Brighton Marathons.
Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in these events, gaining a basic understanding of the audience and ensuring supporter journeys are relevant and engaging.
Maintain good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.
Alongside the Head of Events & Community and Bespoke Events Manager, supervise the day-to-day work of the Events & Community Officer/ Executives, to ensure that the projects you are working on together are carried out effectively. Please note: you will not be expected to line manage these team members.
Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learning's that might be useful for the wider team.

As with everyone in the Public Fundraising team, you may also get in involved with other projects and tasks.

Experience:

A results-driven & proactive attitude, an eagerness to learn and a strong sense of personality accountability.
Confident event management skills, ensuring projects maintain momentum and relevant tasks are delivered well.
An ability to supervise the work of others and delegate effectively. Some line management experience is desirable.
A good understanding & ideally experience of fundraising events, including third-party & Facebook Challenges.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle tasks and be able to identify the most valuable use of your time.
An understanding of the importance of good supporter care and how to provide this in a fundraising context.
Good attention to detail and IT skills.
Great collaboration and communication (written & verbal) skills.
