Transport Planner

Your new company
You will be working for a global logistics company based in the West Midlands who are looking for a Transport Planner to join the operation to support the Logistics Control Centre and ensure daily execution of customer requirements.

Your new role
This role involves coordinating specialised transport services using a Transport Management System and manual planning, creating cost-effective transport plans, managing drivers' schedules, and ensuring timely pick-up and delivery. Responsibilities include handling logistics queries, responding to customer requests, monitoring events, addressing deviations, supporting freight settlement, and implementing continuous improvements. The position also requires participation in audits, workshops, and customer visits, adherence to compliance regulations, and providing on-call cover for urgent queries.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you don't need to be an expert in Transport Planning. You will need some experience or knowledge in the area. Experience using a Transport Management System would be advantageous. You will need a good knowledge of MS Office applications, as well as a proactive and flexible approach to your work.

What you'll get in return
This role comes with a 12-month fixed-term contract with an annual salary of £26,000. This is also a hybrid position. Following your training period being complete, you will be eligible to work from home 3 days per week. There is a security vetting process in accordance with government policies that must be completed to be accepted for this position.
