Trade Finance Officer

As our Trade Finance Officer you are part of our Finance department, located in our Rotterdam office, where you will be working with more than 30 colleagues. The Trade Finance team works together in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

Our new Trade Finance Officer is committed, flexible, willing to develop and has the ability to work together effectively within the Trade Finance team.

The Trade Finance team is diverse, motivated and consists of six team players. It is a small team, with a lot of knowledge available, which can be of interest for you. Experience in the world of Trade Finance would be a pre, however we are always open to train new colleagues in the world of Trade Finance.

Your role in our network

• You will review the incoming documentary credits, stand-by letters of credit and guarantees;
• You will allocate and approve outgoing stand-by letters of credit and guarantees;
• You will actively work on tracking, signalling, judging and monitoring the various forms of risk associated with trade transactions;
• You will produce reports on a case-by-case and periodical basis;
• You will maintain contact with banks, while internally providing colleagues with the necessary information in an adequate fashion;
• You will serve as the primary point of contact for letters of credit and other financial certainties to reduce risks.

Who are we looking for?

• You have obtained a (HBO) degree in Finance, Economics or similar;
• Relevant experience in Trade Finance;
• You have good analytical and communication skills;
• You are administratively strong and accurate;
• You are capable to prioritize tasks, manage multiple and potentially conflicting priorities;
• You have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships;
• You have the ability to work under pressure;
• Eager to develop an understanding of the workings of a complex commodity business;
• You have a good level of Dutch and English (spoken and written).
