TMR Feeding/Herdsperson's Role

A contract vacancy presents the opportunity for a forward-thinking dairy enthusiast to take responsibility in an established dairy team on a large mixed farming business. The team currently care for 350 cows calving all year. The herd is TMR fed and are milked through completely new facilities since the autumn of 2021 with auto ID/sense time, ADF and auto shedding/handling area with a fully computerised 24:48 parlour with Uniform dairy office management system.

The original housing for the herd has already been through a comprehensive refurbishment and unequalled investment and has been expanded for the increase in cow numbers all created with home grown herd expansion.

Key points to the position are:

• To take a share in the responsibility for the commercial, quality milk production, working with milking herd, dry stock and young stock throughout the unit.
• Ability and willingness to take overall responsibility for the TMR feeding.
• The drive, skills and initiative to compliment an enthusiastic and dedicated farming team/ business.

We are also able to offer with this position a very competitive remuneration package with 127- days off per year, an excellent and very well-equipped 2-bedroom house, free from rent, rates, and council tax, pleasantly situated on the farm.
