Test Director - AWS Cloud Migration

We are looking for an experienced Test Director to lead the testing strategy and execution for a major migration project, moving application stacks from on-premises data centers to AWS public cloud. This role will oversee quality assurance efforts, with a focus on automation and innovative testing practices. A strong technical background and the ability to optimize testing processes are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Testing Strategy Development:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive testing strategy for the cloud migration, including functional and non-functional testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and test leads to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead diverse test teams across multiple platforms to ensure appropriate test coverage.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Cloud Architecture and Product Engineering.

• Automation and Tools Management:

  • Oversee and optimize both manual and automated testing frameworks.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools such as Jenkins, BitBucket, Chef, Ansible, and others.

• End-to-End Testing:

  • Plan and manage manual and automated end-to-end validation tests.
  • Conduct performance and stress testing using tools like JMeter and Gatling.

• Non-Functional Testing (NFT):

  • Define and execute a strategy to cover system performance, security, disaster recovery, and scalability in AWS environments.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Review testing plans to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, managing expectations and addressing urgent issues.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation and quality assurance.
• Hands-on experience in cloud migrations, particularly to AWS.
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks.
• Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making.
