Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service partner with Zurich to support contingent recruitment hiring. On behalf of Zurich, AMS are looking for a Programme Manager for an initial 6-month contract.

This will be worked on a hybrid basis with around 2 days/week in Zurich's London offices.

In the UK, Zurich provide a suite of general insurance products covering business, casualty, motor, property and travel insurance, life insurance and pensions products to individuals and corporate customers. They employ over 4,500 people in the UK and are based across a number of locations with their head office being in Swindon.

Purpose of the role:

Zurich have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to work end-to-end on a greenfield digital transformation programme running up to the end of 2025. You will be instrumental in defining and articulating the high-level strategy of this programme as well as getting very close to the details to drive delivery in collaboration with project managers. This programme involves the likes of re-platforming, creating new customer journeys, streamlining how they ingest/underwrite data, managing a backlog of smaller system changes, launching new products and defining a new Target Operating Model.

The ideal individual will be comfortable working at a high level in an ambiguous environment that is constantly refining programme outcomes alongside being comfortable working closely with project managers to get the defined project deliverables over the line to timescales and budget.

As a Programme Manager your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and manage a detailed programme plan across multiple workstreams.
  • Work with PMO to ensure a robust budget is available to support delivery.
  • Analyse, manage and mitigate programme risks and issues.
  • Monitor programme execution - progress tracking and status reporting.
  • Manage interdependencies.
  • Lead and mentor teams.
  • Allocate resources across different projects.
  • Align deliverables to programme outcomes.
  • Articulate business vision effectively on behalf of the sponsor across all stakeholders, anticipating key decision points to support the overall program success and proactively manage escalations.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Proven experience in the end-to-end leadership of complex digital transformation programmes.
  • A background in financial services environments, ideally insurance.

Alongside prior experience of:

  • Planning and managing high complexity delivery.
  • Expert in monitoring and controlling delivery.
  • Operating within a multi-supplier landscape.
  • Engagement with multiple functions.
  • Engagement with Exec level and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent at setting strategies, interpreting requirements and applying sound judgement.
  • Excellent leadership skills to manage the technical SMEs and analysts.
  • Excellent team work to work collaboratively across the programme.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including with senior stakeholders up to Board level.
  • Ability to manage organizational change from digitization in a holistic manner.
