Technical Manager

Location:Exeter - remote working available, with occasional travel tothe office required

Hours: 40 hours perweek - some flexibility on hours available if desired, justlet us know when you speak to us

What will you beresponsible for?

As a Technical Manager, you'll besupporting construction and development schemes by providingan effective and co-ordinated external utility services strategyfrom feasibility through the detailed design and on to constructionof utilities.

Your day today will include:

Developingstrategies including in-depth consideration of various alternativesand options to find the best / preferred solution, ensuring thatthe design solution is fully understood by engaging with the clientand using your experience of asset management to offersolutions.
• Fulfilling the role of main pointof contact with the design consultants at director level providingthe correct level of technical performance, leading and managingengineering design delivery for assignedprojects
• Driving and optimisingthe engineering assurance process for designs prepared bypartner at outline design and capital delivery partners at tenderand construction design, providing expert engineering support tothe design, construction and commissioning process from projectdefinition through to detailed design, construction, commissioningand handover of capital schemes
Leading theEngineering Design team, design consultants and constructionpartners in developing technically and economically proficientengineering solutions, developing and overseeing engineeringproject plans encompassing scope, schedule, cost, risk, andresources
• Implementing design quality proceduresproducing right-first-time philosophy adherence, being the impetusin developing innovation and engineering excellence through theprogramme by leading partner forums and supply chainengagement

What are we lookingfor?

This role ofTechnical Manager is great for you if:

• You hold Chartered Engineer status with adegree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineeringdiscipline
• Can influence people acrossmultifunctional teams throughout the business, full drivinglicence
• Have experience in the application ofquality procedures and document control in engineeringdesign
