Job Description

Job Title: Technical LeadContract Type: FTC - up to 18 months, Part Time, Full Time, Job Share option availableSalary Range:£75,000 - £80,000Location: EastleighClosing Date for applications: Friday 20th SeptemberTechnical Lead: We are embarking the Broker-focused release of our Policy Administration transformation programme. This role will take the lead in providing technology solutions that deliver to our business case. They will ensure they are aligned with the overall programme objectives and key targets as set out by the programme and sponsor.

This is a wide-ranging role covering EIS, Integrations, Docs, IBMi, Data and environments. We expect them to consult with experts in the areas where they may not have the depth of experience.

We expect the Technical lead to work across the workstreams within the programme and with the wider IT organization to remove technology and engineering related impediments, resolve technical constraints and escalations, and be a champion for the technology strategy. This role will work with the architecture lead to agree and drive the designs for the programme whilst ensuring alignment with the overall strategy.

Main Responsibilities as Technical Lead:

  • Accountable for end-to-end design, engineering, and quality of the technical delivery for the Springboard platform
  • Leads on the creation of technical solutions for cross-workstream epics/stories, collaborating across the teams to ensure solutions are delivered to an agreed schedule and level of quality
  • Provides technical leadership and engineering guidance to engineers in the programme resolving technical constraints and roadblocks faced by the workstreams
  • Ensures that the technical solution follows architectural governance and supports on ensuring that technology choices and implementations align with technology roadmaps and architecture strategy
  • Takes ownership to resolve technical impediments for the programme

Skills and experience you need as Technical Lead:

  • Engineering knowledge for key technology components
  • Previous experience of collaborating with architecture functions in order to deliver solutions aligned with technology roadmaps and architecture strategies
  • Previous experience of managing and eliminating technical debt
  • Previous experience of Scaled Agile practices and ways of working
  • Use of development and release toolsets
  • Use of lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps
