Team Manager - Keeping Families Together
Reference number: SC07156
Location: London
Schedule: Full-time
Salary Range: (Full time equivalent) £52,674 - £59,772
Contract Type: Permanent
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives in Southwark?
Does the sound of leading a team of dedicated professionals who share your passion for positive outcomes for children and families appeal to you?
Are you ready to lead, motivate, manage and provide exemplary leadership and professional guidance to a specialist team of social workers, family practitioners and clinical practitioners working within a multi-modal framework, delivering targeted interventions to young people on the edge of care, and their families? Then Keeping Families Together in Southwark is the team for you.
About the Team:
The primary aim of the Keeping Families Together (KFT) team is to prevent family breakdown, working with families where there is a young person aged between 11 and 17 who is at imminent risk of coming into care, or is in care with the possibility of being rehabilitated at home. Using multi-modal interventions and the STAIRS/FAMILY framework, the team works collaboratively with families to enable change so that children can remain safely with their families, rather than going into care.
A small practice group including social workers and family practitioners will look to you for inspirational leadership and professional guidance. The team will have clinical input to assist with working effectively with families and promoting different ways of working with each other to keep families together.
About the Role:
We are looking for an exceptional leader to manage a specialist team of social workers, family practitioners, and clinical practitioners within a multi-modal framework. As a Team Manager for the KFT Team, you lead and model excellent social work practice.
Your calm and focused approach will enable you to support your social workers to work together and deliver excellent evidence-based practice which really makes a difference to the lives of children and families.
To be considered for an interview, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- Ability to use the STAIRS/FAMILY framework and deliver training and coaching to new staff.
- Current registration with Social Work England and a recognised social work qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and child development.
- Proven experience in professional leadership, driving practice improvements, and preparing formal reports.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate complex information.
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and addressing inequality.
- Ability to provide high-quality, emotionally intelligent supervision and support staff development.
