Job Description

A well-qualified English specialist is required for a part-time post for two terms starting immediately to cover Spring and Summer term 2025. The successful candidate will be required to teach English from Year 7 to 13. They should also have a keen and informed understanding of both English pedagogy and a willingness to use a range of teaching methods to deliver a rich, exciting and diverse curriculum.

The English Department is a friendly and supportive team that currently comprises the Head of Department and six other teachers, one of whom is part-time. We also work closely with the Head of Drama and the Drama Department.

English is a highly regarded subject in the school with an excellent academic reputation. Girls achieve impressive results, for example: 40% gained grade A and 63% gained A or A at A Level in 2023. In addition, 22% gained a grade 9 in English Literature at GCSE in 2023. Students regularly go on to study English and English-related degrees at top universities.

Francis Holland School, Regent's Park, was founded in 1878 by the Reverend Canon Francis Holland and is regarded today as one of London's most academically selective girls' independent day schools. The school is situated next to Regent's Park and has a reputation for its friendly, cohesive atmosphere.
