Support Worker (0.6 FTE)

Our client provides specialist Welfare Benefits advice to individuals with long term and life limited illnesses. They are visually impaired and are therefore looking for a Support Worker to provide 1:1 job support to assist them in carrying out their day-to-day duties through Access to Work.

This position is offered on an ongoing temporary basis, for 1-year in the first instance and 20 hours per week over 3-days. Based onsite in Whitechapel, with required travel to Blackfriars.

The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with our client, assisting them in their role and their day-to-day duties including:

• Completing referral forms, following the client's dictation.
• Updating the database, per the client's direction.
• Assisting with reading letters and other relevant documents to the client.
• Note taking.
• Administrative duties e.g. scanning & printing documents.
• Assisting with data entry as required.
• Travelling with the client to in person meetings with their service users.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience of supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and administrative skills.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, as you will be providing support to an individual who is visually impaired.

Please note, that our client has a guide dog, so you must be comfortable and have no allergy to dogs. You do not need experience within Welfare Benefits to apply for this position.
