Job Description

Role Description

The Support Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Services Manager, other Support

Coordinators, the Centre Manager, and Duty Coordinators to assist young people experiencing

homelessness. The aim is to guide them from crisis situations to stability by providing tailored support

and access to necessary services.

Key Responsibilities:

Crisis Support

• Collaborate with specialist agencies (e.g., supported accommodation, Brighton and Hove

Council, substance misuse, mental health, criminal justice system, and domestic violence

services) to enhance client experiences.

• Conduct appointments with clients to address crisis management needs.

• Facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary meetings for clients in crisis.

• Contribute to decision-making processes regarding client needs and plans.

Client Progression

• Manage a caseload of clients to support their journey from crisis to stability.

• Utilise a structured, time-defined casework model to provide focused assistance.

• Support Duty Coordinators and volunteers to ensure appropriate referrals to partner agencies

and specialist services.

• Communicate individual client needs and progression goals to the services team.

• Assist with monitoring and evaluation processes, including funder and organisational

requirements.

• Record client data in a central system (InForm), including Young People s Outcome Stars and

Goals.

Other Duties

• Support the Services and Volunteer teams with running the centre and safeguarding issues -

working alongside the Centre and Services Managers.

• Contribute to organisation-wide projects aligned with strategic goals.

• Promote and participate in Youth Voice initiatives, training, meetings, and team events.

• Undertake occasional weekend work as required.

• Perform other reasonable tasks as required for the role.

Person Specification

Essential Experience

• Experience working with vulnerable young people (16-25 years old).

• Proven ability to collaborate with multi-agency teams to support young people.

• Casework experience using psycho-educational tools, managing complex caseloads.

Desirable Experience

• Understanding barriers and challenges young people experiencing homelessness face in

accessing specialist services.

• Experience delivering training.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients with complex needs.

• Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma-Informed Practice.

(approaches focused on understanding and responding to psychological needs)

• Strong understanding of safeguarding protocols for children and adults.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in IT, including experience with CRM systems.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

• Experience in homeless services, including knowledge of relevant legislation.

Additional Requirements

• On occasion, prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Service and the organisation

• Willingness to travel as required

• Enhanced DBS required
