Job Description
Due to expansion, Aspris Children's Services are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapy team, with options to work across three of our specialist schools; Talocher School (NP25), Queenswood School (HR8) and South Wales College (NP44). There are between 14-37.5 hours available across sites. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and passionate person with the drive to make a real difference to our young people. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, which would suit someone experienced in a special-needs environment. They will be required to work closely with both SALTs and other professionals to provide direct support to our students.

The successful applicant will:

Have tangible experience supporting and facilitating 1:1 and group therapy to young people between the ages of 5 19 yrs.
Having a sound knowledge of evidence-based support within the field of ASC is required.
Have suitable experience supporting language and developmental delays, skilled in facilitating standardised assessment s , scoring, analysis and creating bespoke programmes.
Be proactive in disseminating best ways of working to the wider support team and will be confident to deliver onsite profession specific training to colleagues as and when required.
Work in close partnership with a diverse team of Therapy, and educational specialists.
Be actively encouraged and supported to remain up to date with CPD and both internal and external training opportunities are available to you.

The Schools:

Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs some also have an ASC diagnosis. We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their additional learning needs.

Queenswood School in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Situated in a peaceful rural setting, we are an independent, specialist school providing education and care services to children and young people aged 11-19 years, with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and a range of additional needs. This includes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attachment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), specific learning difficulties (SpLd) and an autistic spectrum condition (ASC). Our aim at Queenswood School is to unlock the potential of our students so they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to enjoy a brighter future.

Aspris College South Wales is an independent, specialist co-educational college for young adults aged 16 to 25 with Asperger's syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders and associated conditions based in Torfaen. The college was set up in partnership with Coleg Gwent, the largest further education college in Wales, to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our young people.
