Job Description

We're currently looking for a Solution Architect on a full time, 12 month fixed-term basis. This position sits within our IT Team. We have offices in both Glasgow and London and will consider any UK based candidate. We can offer both hybrid and remote working options.

The Job

Reporting to the Solution Architecture Practice Lead, on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in the following:

Lead the Solution Design team in translating requirements into usable solution architectures, performing a quality assurance role across this discipline. Work with project and programme stakeholders to ensure that the architecture reflects requirements
Determine specifications, plans, and develop solution architectures for the most complex and business critical solutions. Ensuring that the appropriate technologies are used, and that information and process considerations are aligned to enterprise principles and standards
Lead the development of software architecture frameworks (including standards, policies, and guidelines) which are aligned to ACCA's agreed future state architecture
Lead the development of practices to ensure that software development is performed consistently whether as a project or business as usual activity
Guide the design, programming, testing, and deployment of enterprise software solutions to ensure alignment with ACCA's agreed future state
Represent projects and programmes at relevant governance forums, provide assurance that software deliverables as aligned to frameworks and standards
Accountable for ensuring that solution meets requirements of architecture governance at Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture. Provide support to project and programme managers with technical aspects of governance
Act as a technology evangelist and advocate for IT across the organisation.

The Person

We're looking for someone who:

Comfortable working on large complex scale transformation programmes with experience in this setting of producing designs, supporting developments and deployments with multiple software vendors, third parties and technology platforms
Experience of application solution architecture in an enterprise setting
Knowledge of strategic ACCA technologies e.g. Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, Adobe AEM, or Mulesoft
Knowledge and experience of working with modern development practices e.g. DevOps, Agile
Understanding how to delivery solutions that are timely, performant, satisfying customer requirements but also implement factors that keep the organisation safe and secure
Strong influencing skills with both internal staff and external stakeholders with the ability to provide clear and non-technical advice/interpretation of complex information
Stakeholder management and reporting to senior stakeholders
Excellent analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills, with ability to think laterally and conceptually
Self-motivated, well organised, able to manage own workload and proactively respond to changing priorities, meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality delivery
Ability to apply effective technical judgment, prioritisation, and decision-making
Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience and to communicate on technical subjects with geographically dispersed project team members.
