Software Engineer

Position Available: C Software Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DoE + Bonus

Experience needed: We are looking for a skilled software engineer with strong experience in writing and developing software in C, ideally in a complex engineering or test development environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with a passion for high-quality software development and a proven ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

In this role you will be:

• Designing, developing, and supporting test equipment software for testing complex systems and sub-components
• Working with a range of teams and stakeholders across the business to deliver test software from concept to production
• Exploring new implementations and technologies to meet challenging customer requirements
• Driving real change in software development practices both within the test software space and across the wider engineering community
• Embracing agile methodologies to deliver value and achieve a real sense of accomplishment.
• Working in a software engineering lab environment with test equipment and electronic circuitry

What we need from you

• Strong ability to write and develop software in C
• Previous software engineering experience in developing test solutions
• Experience working in an agile development team
• A strong understanding of how to create high-quality software
• Knowledge of automation, continuous integration, and DevOps principles
• Experience with electronics measurement and debugging tools (eg, DVMs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers)
• Understanding of communication and serial interfaces
• Experience with tools like LabWindows CVI or TestStand is an advantage
