Are you an experienced Special Needs Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? Do you have the passion and dedication to support children and young people with varied needs? I am seeking x2 compassionate and skilled Special Needs Teachers to join a well-established special school that caters to students from primary to secondary levels.
About the RoleAs a Special Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualised teaching to students with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, behavioural challenges, and physical and mental health needs. You will work within a nurturing and supportive environment, tailoring lessons to meet the diverse requirements of each student while fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a larger trust, providing excellent progression pathways and professional development. The position begins on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent within two terms.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, deliver, and assess lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to student development.
Implement and review EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) to ensure effective support for each student.
Manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement strategies.
Engage with parents and carers to support student progress and wellbeing.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development within the trust.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards achieving QTS.
Experience working within a special school or special educational provision.
Strong understanding of SEND, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, and behavioural challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
