Senior Volunteering & Community Officer
Posted 4 hours 40 minutes ago by NATIONAL TRUST
Are you passionate about bringing communities together and inspiring volunteering in stunning natural and historical landscapes? Join us at the National Trust Fermanagh and help shape meaningful connections that last a lifetime.
What it's like to work here
You'll be based at the Fermanagh Portfolio and work across our 3 properties, Castle Coole, Crom and Florence Court. County Fermanagh is in the West of Northern Ireland, approximately 2 hours from Belfast and Dublin. Fermanagh is a rural community which borders the Republic of Ireland. The three properties are set in wonderful landscapes; Castle Coole is the finest neo classical House in Ireland, with its exquisite architecture and collection, located on the edge of Enniskillen the county primary town. Florence Court is located 8 miles from Enniskillen and close to the border with the Republic of Ireland. Florence Court is the Trust's most westerly property. The beautiful demesne is set against Benaughlin and Cuilcagh mountains. Every aspect of life in this classical Irish house, with its fine interiors and exquisite decoration, are brought to life on our fascinating guided tours. Crom Estate is a 2000 acre estate rich in natural history, built heritage and highly designated nature conservation site on the edge of Lough Erne. County Fermanagh's rural beauty and strong community spirit create a unique environment where your work will make a tangible difference.
You'll report to the General Manager and work closely with property teams to deliver the property business plan. You'll also be part of a network of Volunteer & Community Leads across the region.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with the local community, you'll provide positive, flexible, and inclusive opportunities for volunteering. You'll also be working alongside the leadership team to develop and meet our strategic objectives. You'll be the lead for volunteering and community engagement throughout the estate/across several sites. You'll support our volunteer managers, helping them to build their confidence and capability, and you'll get hands-on with day-to-day activities. You'll bring in changes that support the National Trust's ambition to be a fully inclusive organisation, and you'll help to widen and deepen our existing relationships. You'll help to make this a great place to volunteer, while also reaching out to future volunteers and community partners to discover what they need from us. As part of the leadership team, you will be on a rota to act as occasional duty manager.
