SAP Data Migration and Synchronization Architect

EU citizenship required

Way of working: 2 - 3 days onsite in Brussels per week (rest remote option)

As a SAP Data Migration and Synchronization Architect, your contribution will allow us to begin our transformation journey with high-quality data and a strong foundation. You will help drive momentum and keep strategic objectives in focus to ensure smooth go-lives. Your role will remain critical post-implementation to ensure continued value realization from data investments in SAP S/4HANA and connected systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation of data within SAP Business Suite and connected systems (eg, HR, Procurement, CRM, Financials) for migration to the new ERP solution (SAP S/4HANA with relevant satellite systems) by collaborating with Domain Architects, Business Area Leads, and both technical and functional teams.
  • Support internal teams and stakeholders in efforts related to data cleansing and data quality improvement ahead of ERP migration.
  • Validate the System Implementation (SI) partner's data migration and synchronization strategy and report progress and concerns to program leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and SI partners to execute the data migration to the target ERP landscape.
  • Monitor and validate the quality and completeness of data migration activities performed by both internal and SI teams.
  • Work with SI and managed services partners to ensure accurate synchronization of SAP data with Legacy applications, and support seamless integration across systems and interfaces.
  • Capture lessons learned from the data migration process to enhance future projects and institutional knowledge.
  • Coordinate data loading efforts throughout the ERP transition in collaboration with implementation partners.
  • Post go-live, support ongoing collaboration with the Data Governance team to maintain consistency and accuracy across SAP and integrated applications.

Requirements:

  • Critical: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in SAP projects, specifically focused on data management, governance, and migration from SAP Business Suite to SAP S/4HANA and/or related SAP satellite systems.
  • Critical: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with data migration from SAP Business Suite to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Critical: Working knowledge of at least 4 of the following SAP systems and data models: S/4HANA (all modules), BTP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, IBP, IAM, C4C, CDC.
  • Critical: Practical experience in at least 3 full project life cycles using at least 3 of the following tools: BRF, BRF+, LSMW, SAP MDG, SAP Migration Cockpit. Ability to select the right tool for the scenario.
  • Strong understanding of SAP's data architecture and the strategic importance of data preparation and data quality in migration projects.
  • Broad comprehension of data structures and flows across SAP functionalities (eg, finance, procurement, HR, asset management, supply chain, CRM). Advocate of the SAP One Data Model.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, including internal teams, system integrators, technical/functional consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Proven track record of delivering within both consolidated and multi-stream project environments, including working with offshore teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive, hands-on problem solver with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Critical: Fluent in English and either Dutch or French.
