€450 per day - fully remote - contract until end of year - English Speaking

Due to more increasing workloads in-house my client is after an additional contractor to support them through a re-organisational project.The Senior Ruby on Rails Developer will be responsible for

• Ruby on Rails/web application development
• The development of change requests,
• Providing expertise in software development life cycle phases from design to testing.
• Gathering functional requirements from end-users and business analysts for new enhancements for production
• Designing and implementing new Ruby on Rails web application
• Providing expertise and support on bug fixing
• Continued iterative improvements of Ruby on Rails applications
• Providing technical knowledge in engineering, releasing and maintaining web-based enterprise applications

Professional requirements

• The consultant must have minimum 6 years enterprise development experience
• 2 years of experience will be with the Ruby on Rails Development Framework
• Behaviour/Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology
• The consultant must have built APIs for Ruby on Rails applications
• Participation in open source projects is desirable.

Qualification and experience

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline
• At least six years of professional work experience
• Experience of managing support tickets, providing feeding, ensuring efficient turnaround of issues.

Technical Requirements:

• Excellent developmet skills in Ruby on Rails and other web technology platforms
• Solid UNIX Systems Administration skills
• Container architecture such as Kubernetes
• Design and debugging of TCP/IP(v4) networks
• Virtualization with VMware ESX
• PostgreSQL 9.x administration
• Nginx/haproxy
• Operating Systems: Mac OSX, Linux, Windows
