Senior Project Manager - Operational Excellence
Duration
: 3 months + Possible Extension

This is a *Amsterdam* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on their largest digital and technological transformation program.

Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading medium to large projects with a strong focus on project management, communication, and business needs assessment. They will develop implementation strategies and oversee end-to-end project activities, collaborating across Global, Regional, and Site responsibilities. The role involves working with teams across multiple sub-departments and other departments within the company. The Senior Project Manager ensures project success, from gathering requirements and managing risks to presenting findings and aligning initiatives with our client's goals.

This role also includes running strategy workstreams from problem definition to solution delivery, including change management initiatives and communications plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft Methodology and Standards: Apply structured methodologies and lead project/change management activities.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Independently lead high-complexity projects from scoping to execution, delivering significant business value.
  • Project Initiation and Planning: Drive scoping and planning, define program objectives, KPIs, and success criteria, and create roadmaps.
  • Project Implementation and Completion: Execute project plans, track progress, and ensure successful project handovers.
  • Project Governance: Design project governance structures and frameworks to support efficient delivery and decision-making.
  • Delivery/Impact: Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope, bringing significant value to the business.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain high levels of engagement among diverse stakeholders, working up to Director level.
  • Success Metrics: Define and measure success metrics for projects and workstreams.
  • Facilitation: Lead workshops to support project delivery.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leadership Team: Limited cooperation and information sharing.
  • Own Department: Continuous collaboration, persuasion, and information sharing.
  • Other Departments: Frequent communication and cooperation.
  • Extended Leadership Team: Frequent cooperation, persuasion, and information sharing.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of project management experience, preferably with a background in Agile Project Management. PMP or Agile certification is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to use data to drive decision-making.
    • Strong change management understanding.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence stakeholders and project teams.
    • Highly organized with problem-solving capabilities in complex environments.
    • Ability to function well in ambiguity and a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
