Our OT Culture
As one of the busiest teams in Surrey, the Reigate and Banstead Locality Team has a countywide reputation for their innovative approach to service provision. By thinking outside the box, the team actively seek to 'Be the change you wish to see in the World'. This approach resulted in the development and implementation of the 5 Steps Programme which was published twice in the national OT News Magazine (May 2020 and May 2021). The team's hard work, creativity and courage resulted in the OT Team being finalists for the 2021 Local Government Chronicle Awards. Currently the team is preparing to astound judges with their innovative 'Smart Working OT Project' at the 2024 LGC Awards in November, being finalists once again.
In addition to innovation, the Team has a reputation for their investment in staff (new and old), students, apprentices and colleagues from other services. Jointly with health, the team has developed two ground-breaking training courses - the Banstead Care Home Initiative and the Care Core Crash Course. We believe that clients need to receive the best possible service and therefore we need to be fully confident and competent to be the best we can be.
