*Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lancashire - Energy Sector*

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering and development of cutting-edge products, aligning with the company's roadmap, strategy, and product delivery schedule. Utilising first principles and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques, you will simulate and model mechanical systems to drive forward product innovation.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Contribute to the engineering and development of products in line with the company's strategic goals.
- Utilise first principles and FEA techniques to simulate and model mechanical systems.
- Engage in 3D CAD design, preferably using SolidWorks, and manage files with systems such as PDM.
- Perform analysis with CAE/CFD packages like ANSYS to inform design and development in both static and dynamic systems.
- Apply rapid prototyping techniques, including 3D printing (FDM, SLS, SLA).
- Establish validation test criteria, analyse results, and share insights with the team.
- Work independently while contributing to the wider team's objectives.
*Core Skills and Experience Required:*
- A minimum of five years' experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design, preferably using SolidWorks.
- Expertise in CAE/CFD analysis packages such as ANSYS.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques.
- Ability to establish and analyse validation test criteria.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Desirable Skills:*
- Knowledge of tool design and tool-making techniques, including CNC milling, turning, and wire EDM machining.
- Familiarity with high-volume production methods such as Laser welding and automation techniques.
- Understanding of high voltage architecture development and electric powertrain components, including electric traction motors and power electronics.
