Senior Management Accountant - Hybrid / Remote Working

Belfast - Perm contract£52,000 per annum
Hays are on the search for a Senior Management Accountant to join our client who is a nationwide charity, with the successful candidate playing a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the management accounting team.This role will be hybrid, almost remote, paying up to £52,000 per annum on a permanent contract.

Key Areas of Responsibility;

Responsibility of cost centres that have been assigned by the Head of Finance and in conjunction with the regional directors' matrix.

Prepare and analyse the monthly management accounts, prepare budgets and provide financial and costing information and advice to divisional Directors.

Lead and manage a team of management accountants, providing guidance, support, and motivation.

Conduct regular team meetings to discuss priorities, address challenges, and provide updates.

Be the primary point of contact for training and development within the team, and identify training needs within the team, developing a comprehensive training plan.

Act as the first line reviewer for the work produced by the management accounting team; such as monthly management accounts, budget builds, costing schedules up to pre-determined values and provide constructive feedback to team members to facilitate their professional development.

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards in all financial reports and analyses.

Oversee the timely completion of all management accounting tasks and projects by developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and meet tight deadlines.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to schedules.

Serve as the main point of contact between the management accounting team and the Head of Finance.

Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and IT, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Essential Criteria:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Qualified Accountant and current member of one of the following recognised CCAB bodies: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA); Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA).

Minimum 3 years proven experience in management accounting, with a minimum of 1 years in a supervisory role.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.

Demonstrate experience of use of computerised finance packages and experience in Excel.
