Job Description

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for your next opportunity to deliver exciting projects while making a difference?

Hampshire County Council is one of the best performing local authorities in the country providing high quality public services to over a million customers. Our IT teams are central to that success - building and delivering digitally optimised and cost-effective solutions, with a national reputation for IT excellence, innovation and value. Our Projects and Programmes Team is a busy and dynamic change function, supporting the departments of the authority to deliver transformation, savings, and service improvements whist working within formal governance structures and processes.

We're seeking a Senior IT Project Manager on a 2-year contract. As well as being the driving force behind project delivery, you'll be required to maintain a responsive and effective working relationship with colleagues and customers across the business representing and upholding the integrity and effectiveness of the IT Department.

To be successful in the role, you need to have significant skills and experience of managing end to end delivery of large, complex projects. You must be creative and innovative, with strong competence in financial management and ability to present and report to senior management. You will also be self-motivated and committed to ongoing personal development.

If you'd like the opportunity to develop your Project Management skills and experience while helping the organisation to transform, then this could be the role for you!

What Can We Offer You?

Hampshire County Council is recognised nationally as one of the highest performing local authorities in the UK. A modern, forward-looking local authority, it offers a pleasant, supportive, and collaborative working environment. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing that the work you do is making a real difference to the people living in and visiting Hampshire, including some of the most vulnerable children and adults in the county.

This role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Council's Open Workplace Policy, the successful candidate can undertake their work between home and the office (a hybrid approach) depending upon operational requirements.

Hampshire County Council is also a flexible employer interested in making the most of your skills and offers a great work life balance. We invest in you through our internal development programmes and training and offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
