Senior Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Job Details:

  • Location: Fully Remote (Northampton HQ with multiple UK offices)

We are proud to announce that we have partnered with an established banking firm seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to join their SRE team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and modernising their infrastructure, ensuring the availability and performance of their mission-critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Linux environments (RHEL preferred) and virtualisation platforms (Proxmox, VMWare, KVM).
  • Deploy and troubleshoot data centre hardware (servers, SANs, load balancers).
  • Utilise tools like Puppet or Ansible to automate configuration and maintenance tasks.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring systems (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) to ensure system health.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule, resolving issues before they impact customers.
  • Work closely with a globally distributed team and contribute to continuous improvement.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or system administration roles.
  • Experience as a Senior Infrastructure DevOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Deep experience in colocation environments and hardware administration.
  • Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experienfe working in high-performing IT Teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in high-availability, performance-critical environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of F5 BigIP, NetApp SANs, and MySQL.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-based WAF/DDoS services (Cloudflare, Akamai).
  • Familiarity with Agile processes (Kanban, Scrum).

This is a fully remote role within the UK, with occasional travel required to their data centres.
