Job Description
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Information Governance Specialist for an initial 4 month contract on a salary equivalent day rate of £306-£340/day (Inside IR35), client will consider market day rates also. Hybrid working in either Edinburgh/Glasgow.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice in the provision of Data Protection knowledge and expertise, by providing expert practitioner support to the DLI programme in the development and delivery of national and innovate technological solutions across the Sector.
- Provide leadership and direction by providing assurance that the appropriate due diligence has been undertaken, to ensure the lawful and secure processing of personal identifiable data in the delivery of health and care systems.
- Responsible for ensuring that the development and implementation of new software/technical solutions adhere to data protection legislative requirements, and that associated risks are adequately mitigated.
- Be proactive in the application of expert Data Protection knowledge in the drafting of appropriate accountability and governance documentation, including Data Protection Impact Assessments, Information Sharing Agreements and Data Processing Agreements.
- Leverage critical awareness/knowledge of relevant issues in the field through engaging with and representing the organisation within the wider product community by ensuring that information governance and data protection is considered appropriately in the delivery of technical solutions across health and care systems.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from other disciplines in enabling the success of our cross-disciplinary delivery teams.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience in working in the field of Information Governance and Data Protection legislation
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team technology team
- Considerable experience in the drafting and conducting data protection impact assessments.
- Expertise in accessing, analysing and presenting a wide range of complex information to a range of audiences
- Experience of working flexibly and collaboratively within your own team and across other workstreams
- Experience of communicating and influencing at senior level and of giving presentations at local/national levels
- A track record of collaborative working and of sharing knowledge and information across teams within large organisations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; to plan and prioritise own workloads, and that of your team; and to meet deadlines
- Flexible approach to learning and problem solving
- Commitment to own personal and professional development, and that of your team
- Extensive knowledge of information governance and data protection, including legislative issues.
- Understanding of legislative compliance for public sector organisations regarding data protection legislation.
- Ability to rapidly assimilate significant volumes of complex information.
- Proven expertise in the practical implementation of data protection legislation.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders across different levels of seniority
- Aptitude for building key networks and strategic alliances across multiple stakeholders
- Highly effective communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to understand the audience and adapt communication style accordingly
- Experience of collecting, analysing, and presenting complex data to a variety of stakeholders
- Senior Leadership/Management skills and experience including coaching and/or mentoring of team members
- Proven expertise in using Microsoft 365, in particular Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
