Job Description

Senior Data Analyst (FCS103)

Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

Salary: £36,987 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.

Location: Manchester (The role will be based at the office base listed; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

You will champion and be responsible for the delivery of products that enable colleagues at all levels to make decisions that are informed by data. In turn, this will provide clear evidence of impact made and value created both for the Arts Council and the wider arts and culture sector.

You will analyse information across our investments, disciplines, geography and policy areas and provide interpretations of the data, trends and future requirements to stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.

Acting as a partner you will lead and deliver end-to-end customer focused solutions to questions, issues and opportunities in support of operations, strategy development and future cases to government. Work may include solution design, advice giving and developing bespoke project delivery, survey analysis, visualisation development using PowerBI, data modelling and queries using SQL.

You will build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and across all departments, from the Media and Information Management team, up to Executive Board level, ensuring a sound understanding of their needs.

You will use your communication skills to scope and manage projects from initial response and brief development through to detailed analysis and delivery of results/recommendations ensuring the end user has full understanding of the decisions taken and impact generated.

You will support the Insights department to embed a shift to visualised and automated outputs.

You will provide data/information to meet legislative, statutory and management requirements as well as ad hoc data requested from external parties.

You will build organisational capability through:

Training and mentoring immediate team and wider department colleagues Delivering consistent analysis and interpretation standards along with efficient and effective working practices (including peer reviewing outputs) Identifying new analysis techniques and best practice Developing relationships with the wider analytical community (external) Acting as a coach to ensure appropriate level of skill across analytical outputs. Ensure they meet requirements, are fully understood and readily applied.

Work with colleagues to ensure data is accurate and fit for purpose.

Create/maintain best practice documentation to remove single point of failure.
