Senior Community & Events Officer
c.£34,000 per annum FTE
London Hybrid/ Flexible Hybrid working
The Talent Set is delighted to be working with an amazing children s charity based in London as they recruit for a Senior Community & Events Officer permanent position. The main purpose of this role is to generate income by managing a variety of third-party and organisation owned events, while also supporting individuals hosting their own fundraising activities within the community.
The role involves efficient event management, administration, and providing exceptional supporter care, all within a high-performing fundraising team dedicated to the charity s mission. The role reports to the Community and Events Manager and manages up to two Community & Events Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage a range of third-party, virtual, and owned events, overseeing all stages from planning and marketing to delivery and evaluation.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet relevant deadlines.
- Provide exceptional supporter care, fostering and maintaining relationships with individuals, groups, schools, and companies to drive engagement and fundraising.
- Plan and deliver event logistics, including briefing suppliers, agencies, and volunteers, while assessing and managing risks.
- Proactively create and implement marketing plans to recruit supporters for community and events fundraising, collaborating with the communications team and external agencies as needed.
- Support and line manage up to two Community & Events Officers, contributing to team planning and strategy development.
Person Specification:
- Proactive, target-driven, and able to work independently, demonstrating strong initiative and self-motivation.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet conflicting deadlines.
- Flexible and collaborative, with a strong willingness to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledgeable in virtual event fundraising, associated systems, and the principles of community and events fundraising, as well as relationship marketing and supporter care.
- Demonstrable experience in community and/or events fundraising, managing budgets, providing exceptional supporter care, and building strong relationships.
- Experienced in project planning and event delivery, managing third-party suppliers, creating compelling content for supporter marketing, and using databases to steward and engage supporters.
