I am working with a growing professional services client that are looking to bring on a Senior Platform Engineer that is passionate about automation and deploying and optimising cloud infrastructure in AWS.

This is a senior position and fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping, delivering, designing and securing the organisations AWS cloud infrastructure. Sitting between the development and infrastructure teams.

Only candidates who have worked in a compliant multi-account cloud environment and can lead the design and delivery of solutions at a senior level will be considered for the role.

The role is offered on a fully remote basis for any UK based applicants.

Responsibilities:

• Design secure scalable solutions within AWS environment.
• Work with AWS Infrastructure and implement security best practices.
• Implement and maintain identity and access management tools.
• Implement Cloud Security Governance with AWS Control Tower and Security Hub. As well as associated governance controls and proactive threat detection.
• Design, develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS Cloudformation and AWS CDK.
• Drive automation provisioning, alerting and scaling.
• Help optimise solutions that are cost efficient and use things like AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted advisor.
• Manage monitoring and alerting systems like Cloudwatch.
• Be the lead and point of escalation for troubleshooting complex incidents and design associated solutions.
• Ensure the organisation roadmap is aligned with new AWS features and services.
• Provide Mentoring and technical guidance for infrastructure and development teams.

Experience Required:

• Extensive Platform Engineering experience. At least 5 years in a senior position.
• Extensive experience working in a AWS Serverless environment. Using AWS Lambda, API Gateway
• Extensive AWS experience with services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Clouldwatch.
• Extensive experience with IaC using Cloudformation.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud security, encryption and IAM policies.
• Experience of Database technologies. Ideally Redshift, Dynamo BD, Aurora or similar.
• Experience with contact platform services. Ideally AWS Connect.
• Strong Scripting skills with one of Python, BASH or YAML.
