Job Description
Core subject (Maths, English, orScience) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, andother Additional Educational Needs required inNottinghamshire.

Multiple positions are available and hiring isongoing to meet the wide variety of needs wesupport.

We are on a mission totransform the quality of education provided to young people withSEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs andDisabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social,Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supportingchildren and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We arelooking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion fortransforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerablelearners in Nottinghamshire.

At TargetedProvision our mission is to raise the standard of educationalsupport offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep theteam around the child, and you will be supported throughout everyplacement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers whoare eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young peoplewith a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible,holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement anddrastically improve the outlook of their educationaljourney.

The SEN / SEND Tutorrole:
  • This role willinvolve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to youngpeople with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND),Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate andSevere Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other AdditionalEducational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
  • These young people are referred to us by localauthorities and schools and will require some level of support intheir educational and social-emotional journey
  • If selected, your role will be to provide this supportvia flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring andmentoring
SEN / SENDTutor tasks and responsibilities:
  • Planning each session of teaching / tutoring /mentoring
  • Providing the young person withholistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advancetheir educational and social-emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on theyoung person's progress
SEN / SEND Tutorrequirements:
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified TeacherStatus / QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teachingexperience
  • Experience working with youngpeople with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other AdditionalEducational Needs
  • Experience, knowledge andunderstanding of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost ifneeded)
  • Two professional references
  • You must be based in the UK with the right to work in theUK, even for remote / online assignments

It is a strict requirement that you have the ability towork in a way that promotes the health, safety and wellbeing ofchildren and young people and follow safeguarding policies andprocedures at all times.

SEN /SEND Tutor employment status:
  • This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, toprovide short-term engagements as and when they arise
  • You will work through a contract for service and will bepaid via PAYE
  • We do not offer any set amountof work nor expenses coverage
  • Our insurancecovers the work you do for us
  • This is not aself-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
